Grenada’s warm air, near constant sunshine and soft coral sand make the beaches irresistible. Grande Anse, the nearest beach to the capital St George and is loved by locals and visitors alike.
The most popular beach in Grenada, Grande Anse beach is a long, broad sweep of sand.
Sunbathing, playing in the waves, spreading a picnic under the shade trees, buying chilled drinks from vendors, shopping in the little market back of the beach….it’s Grenada’s liveliest beach. But there’s room for everyone, with the south end, away from St George, being quieter.
The Flamboyant Hotel is right by the beach at the quieter end, with a dining room almost on the beach. The swimming pool has a view out over the bay. It has a dive shop too, Dive Grenada, with easy access over the beach to boat or shore diving. The Coyaba Beach Hotel is right on the beach and has a swim-up bar in the pool as well as a beach bar.
The view over the bay goes over to St George and the steep green mountain behind dotted with small wooden houses. Archetypal Caribbean and just about as relaxing as a beach can be!
